quilt. The design was simply four patch but I attempted to quick piece it and so joined long strips of fabric together and then cross cut. The disadvantage of this is that there was little variety in the setup of the colours. Also my machining skills were not too good and so the seams were not necessarily all accurate. This necessitated my off setting the rows when joining together.
I have always loved this quilt and at one stage converted it into a quilt mat carry all. A very unsatisfactory conversion and so I then changed it back to a lap quilt. Unfortunately when I had made it into the carry all I had cut back on the binding and so I was unable to completely flatten it out.

Although very thin it is still a favourite and is used as a cover for our downstairs TV. Nothing fancy but I love it.

Quilted by hand in an all over Baptist Fan design which has long been a favourite,

<div about 1992.
The fabric for this was purchased when money was a bit tight and was bought from a factory seconds shop. This was my second attempt at scrap four patches and an improvement on my initial attempt. I had by this time discovered that quick piecing of strips and then cross cutting decreased the variety in a quilt. With this quilt although I still used quick piecing techniques the strips were of a shorter length and also the number of strips joined together was less.
The backing for this quilt was made from the leftover strips.

Fabric
